Arrival and Departure
Our birthday packages cost $150 for 90 minutes. With that, you'll receive a party host to help you decorate for the party and clean up the mess when the party is over. This fee covers 10 children, along with their drinks — bug juice or tummy yummy — and 10 balloons. We also have Coke products available for the adults at just $1 a piece.
Curriculum
Based on the premise that children learn through play, The New Generation reflects the guidelines established by the National Association for the Education of Young Children in offering developmentally appropriate learning centers for your child's exploration.
Our teacher's role is to observe and encourage each child's developmental abilities and to plan choices in learning centers throughout the room that will encourage your child to try out new skills and practice old ones, express ideas, and solve problems.
Staff Qualifications
Our staff members are experienced early childhood educators. They are encouraged to be active in state and local professional early childhood associations. They participate in a continuous program of in-service education and other workshop training or college-level courses for professional advancement. Thus, they rema in alert to the ever-changing needs of today's families.
Parent Conference
You will be notified of conferences scheduled during the year to discuss the progress of your child. Children may not attend those parent-teacher conferences.
Nutrition
Parents must provide formula and/or bottles of milk and any baby food for their child until he / she is ready for table food. Written feeding instructions are required for all infants under 12 months old. Infants are fed according to their individual feeding schedules.
Two nutritious snacks are provided to your child each day at mid-morning and mid-afternoon. A well-balanced meal is served to your child at lunch each day. Your child must arrive at least an hour before lunch time to be included in the lunch count. Lunch is served daily at 12:00 pm. A menu will be posted weekly in the center's lobby. Make sure to notify your child's teacher or our director of any food allergies or the food your child can't eat.
Immunizations
All children must receive required immunizations prior to enrollment. The following schedule is required by the Health Department:
- 2 months — DTP, OPV, HibCV
- 4 months — DTP, OPV, HibCV
- 6 months — DTP, OPV, HibCV
- 12 months — MMR, TB tine test
- 15 months — DTP, OPV, HibCV
- 4 to 6 years — DTP, OPV, MMR
Illness
All children must be well upon their arrival to our center. If a child becomes ill while in our care, the child will be isolated and you will be notified as soon as possible. If a child leaves the center due to fever, vomiting, diarrhea, or conjunctivitis, he / she should be free from symptoms for 24 hours before returning. Your child should be kept home when they show any of the following symptoms:
- A fever over 100 degrees
- Vomiting and / or diarrhea
- Sore throat
- Croup
- Any unexplained rashes
- Any skin infections — boils, ringworm, impetigo
- Conjunctivitis (pinkeye) or other eye infections
- Any symptoms of usual childhood diseases
Medication
A medication slip must be completed for medicine to be administered at the center. Licensing standards require that medications must have current expiration dates and must be prescribed for the child receiving the medication. Prescribed medications must be in the original container. Labels must include the child's name, date, specific directions for dosages, times to be given, and the physician's name. No over-the-counter medications will be given.
Injury
Simple first aid for minor injuries will be administered by the child's teacher. In case of a serious injury, you will be notified immediately. If it is an emergency and you can't be reached, the physician designated on your child's file will be contacted. A signed release for emergency treatment should be on file for your child.
Clothing
Your child should dress in comfortable, washable play clothes. Some activities may require your child to get messy. An extra set of clothing that is in-season should be kept in your child's cubby at all times. All personal properties, such as coats, jackets, sweaters, caps, and gloves should be clearly marked with your child's full name.
Rest Time
Rest time is necessary for a healthy development. Children are encouraged to rest, but not required to sleep. Your child is allowed to bring a "special" stuffed animal, small pillow, and blanket to rest with during this time. Soft, quiet music is played to help your child rest.
Discipline
Infants, toddlers, and preschoolers are learning to relate socially to other children. For this reason, we view discipline as an opportunity to help your child learn new social skills. Discipline is always given in a positive manner and limits are consistent. Techniques used include redirecting your child, offering your child words to use to solve problems and a chance to try again, as well as modifying the environment or routing to meet your child's needs. At no time will there be cruel, harsh, or unusual punishments administered.
Suspension
In cases of extreme disciplinary problems that would put other children or staff at risk, parents will be notified immediately to pick their child up.
Field Trips
Older children may take several field trips during the year. You will receive a notice before the field trip, giving you all the details of the trip. The notice must be signed and returned for your child to participate.
Birthdays
We request you to keep all celebrations at the center simple. Be sure to notify your child's teacher at least two days in advance if your child will be bringing a special snack. Your child's teacher can give you suggestions for appropriate snacks to bring along.
Outdoor Play
The New Generation believes that outdoor play is an extension of indoor play. Children should be allowed to run and explore their outdoor environment while continuing the growth process. Parents are asked to dress their children appropriately for cold weather with hats, gloves, coats, and shoes. On rainy days children may engage in physical activities in large spaces within the center. When it is too wet to play on the playground, but it is not raining, classes may take a walk outside.
Registration fees are due at the time of registration and are nonrefundable.

Methods of Payment
The New Generation accepts Visa or MasterCard. You may also pay by check made out to "The New Generation." There is a $20 service charge for any returned checks. Tuitions and fees may also be paid in cash.
